What is the Mimosa Me Crazy?

Mimosa Me Crazy is a new and totally unique event at Green Lake that will give participants many options and have something for everyone. An untimed (but accurately measured and with display clocks at the finish line) 5K run & walk and a “Mimosa Mile” for those wanting to go a shorter distance – to ‘fast track to the Mimosa Garden!’ We also have a free kids dash for those 10 years old and younger (parents welcome) and also a fun and free Easter Egg hunt for kids 10 and under.

When is it?

Saturday morning April 20th.  There is a detailed timeline in the “Information” section of this site.

Where exactly is the event?

We will be located on the northeast side of Green Lake, right by the Green Lake Community Center, which is at 7201 E. Green Lake Drive N., 98115.

What is the course like?

The start and finish are located at the same place. This is a completely flat, paved and very scenic loop around Green Lake with a little bit extra on the grass for the start and the finish (to make sure we get an accurate 5K distance). The Mimosa Mile will be an out-and-back run and walk along the first part of the 5K route./ The Kids Dash will take place near the start/finish area.

Will the 5K or Mile be timed?

The Mimosa Me Crazy is more focused on fun, fitness, camaraderie and of course Mimosas than on finishing times. While there will be no official results, there will be display clocks at the start/finish line so everyone that wants to can keep track of their final time. Both the 5K (3.1 miles) and the Mile will be accurately measured.

What do I get for my registration fee?

In addition to event participation, you get a very cool shirt commemorating the event, a finisher medal and for those 21 years and older – your first adult beverage is also included with your entry fee.  In addition to several types of mimosas, we will be offering at least two types of beer. There will be several vendors on hand at the finish line handing out swag and treats as well so please plan on visiting them while you’re there.

 What about Kids?

We will have a Kids Dash before the main event for those 10 years of age and younger. The kids dash is free, but if you want to buy a youth shirt for your child the cost is $12.  Each participant in the kids dash will receive a custom-printed kids dash bib number to wear and a finisher ribbon at the end.

What is the Eggstravaganza?

Even though this is an event focusing on Mimosas, we encourage family participation and for those bringing children we will be having an Easter Egg hunt before the main events get started at 9:30 a.m. If your child is 10 years old or younger (we won’t be checking ID’s though!) they are welcome to participate. There won’t be actual eggs, but treats, healthy snacks and a few small prizes to be found! This was a huge family favorite last year and a lot of fun!

Can kids come with us into the Mimosa Garden?

Sorry but no. Washington State law will not allow minors into the Mimosa Garden. But we’ll have plenty for them to do!

Where do I pick up my shirt and bib?

There will be a packet pickup the day before, Friday April 19th, at Super Jock ‘n Jill at Green Lake between the hours of 10AM and 6PM. We strongly encourage anyone that can make it there to do so, since it will reduce the lines and wait time on Saturday morning.  If you can’t make that and come in the morning, just plan to arrive early to Green Lake Park on the big day! Registration opens at 8:00 a.m, in advance of the 9:30 a.m. start.

What about bathrooms?

There are several full restrooms around the park, including at the starting/finish areas.  We'll supplement those with a row of portable bathrooms and we'll have hand-washing stations. There will also be a small number of portable toilets in the Mimosa Garden.

Is it dog-friendly?

Yes – please remember to leash your furry friends and to clean up after your pup!

Strollers?

Of course! We just ask that you don’t begin at the very front of the start line for safety reasons, and be mindful of those around you.

What’s with the Costume Contest?

We appreciate creative costumes, so come decked-out (better yet, bring a team) in whatever garb you think best reflects the Spirit of the weekend and Mimosas and wear it throughout the event!

What about parking?

Green Lake is a very popular area of Seattle and as such parking can sometimes be a challenge. There is neighbourhood parking (both paid and free) all around the park, but we are encouraging people that can to carpool, bike, or use public or private transportation to get to the event.

Will there be a place to check my clothes at the event?

Yes. You can check any gear you would like at our Gear Check tent in the main venue.

Do you need volunteers?

Oh Goodness Yes! An event like this couldn’t happen without great volunteer support. We cherish our volunteers and promise to treat you right!  Email us at
