Q: I love this event! But I don't have a dog. Can I still participate?
A: Everybody is welcome to participate. There will be many people there without dogs and some people there with more than one dog. So come on out and have fun with us!

Q: How much is the entry fee and how does it work?
A: You can choose to participate in the 5K and be timed, or participate and not receive an official time and place. The registration fee is per person and includes a t-shirt for humans and a dog tag and bandana for 1 dog (per human registration fee). Additional dog tags and bandanas can be purchased separately.  We do not offer a family registration fee. Registration fees are
outlined here.

Q: Can I pick up my race packet and t-shirt before the race?
A: Yes, in fact we encourage you to do so if at all possible to reduce the lines at registration on event morning. Our Last Gasp/Last Woof registration and Packet Pickup will be at Super Jock ’n Jill’s Green Lake store location on Saturday August 10th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Details can be found

Q: Can I use my in-line skates or ride my scooter at the Dog Days of Summer?
A: Sorry but no. This is for the safety of humans and animals as well as for insurance reasons.

Q: Where can I park at Magnuson Park for the event?
A: There is ample parking inside Magnuson Park to accommodate this event. Please enter the park off of Sand Point Way at 74th Street (7400 Sand Point Way NE) and follow the signs. Please note that parking for this event is not allowed in the Dog Off leash parking lot nearby, which is restricted to the off leash park. But we are nearby!

Q: I have an energetic puppy that is not quite 6 months and would like him/her to come with me. Will this work?
A: We love puppies!  But for everyone’s safety and the health of your dog, we ask that they not participate in the 5K.  Feel free to bring your puppy and have them participate in the Puppy Parade before the 5K!

Q: Will there be shelter or rescue dogs at the race available for adoption?
Yes! Some shelter and rescue dogs will be at the race. To see all the dogs available for adoption, stop by their table in our Expo area.

Q: I have a pet that isn’t a dog that would love to come to the event. Can we do this?
A: Sorry, but mixing dogs (even well behaved ones) and other animals at an event like this can be unpredictable.  Please leave all animals except dogs at home for this event.

Q: Are baby strollers allowed?
A: Absolutely.

Q: I have a child, do I need to register them?
A: We have a FREE Kids’ Dash for children 10 years old and under and if your child is of that age we encourage you to let them run that.  Any children over 10 years old participating in the 5K event will need to be registered.

Q: Will there be a  gear check at the event?
A: Yes there will be a gear check area in the venue for your convenience. Please leave all valuables at home as we cannot be responsible for any loss or damage.

Q: What happens if I decide I can’t make the event after all?  Are there refunds available?
A: Sorry but no. All sales are final.

Q: What are the “special’ rules for an event like this?
A: We’re glad you asked! Because yes, there do have to be some specific guidelines for an event like this to make sure everyone remains safe and has a great time (dogs and humans alike). So here they are:

·      All dogs must have up-to-date dog tags and license

·      All dogs must be current on vaccinations

·      No retractable leashes

·      Leashes no longer than 8 feet (it’s the law in Seattle!)

·      No dogs under 6 months in the 5K (unless transported in a wagon, carriage, etc.)

·      No aggressive dogs

·      No female dogs in heat

·      Dogs must be on a leash at all times
